Our Story

Christian and Kasey Christensen’s tradition of "Soup Sunday" began as a weekly get-together for friends and family at their home.  Their combined 40 years in restaurant service and ownership fed their desire to create a new and excitingly different dining experience in Reno.  They set their focus on healthy homemade recipes made from scratch daily. Then added the freshest ingredients and great customer service.

Süp offers a much-needed service of high quality, fast service dining. Our concept of gourmet healthy soups, sandwiches and salads is unique within the area, and allows us to be set apart from typical dining options. Patrons may dine-in or take-out their meals. Our MidTown location also lends to the hip and sophisticated feel of our restaurant, combined with our delicious menu served until 9 pm Monday through Saturday, making Süp a part of the "MidTown scene.”

We plan to continue to work with other local businesses and the City of Reno to improve the MidTown District and build an even stronger community that we can all be proud of!

Süp Restaurant opened its doors August 20th, 2007, and has had a line down the street during lunchtime ever since.

Our Ingredients

Here's what makes us unique and quite proud of what we create and serve:

• Our soup stocks are made in-house from fresh ingredients, not reconstituted from thick bases bought from suppliers.

• We roast turkeys daily for our soups and sandwiches.

• Our breads are the only pre-made products purchased, delivered and made fresh daily, from House of Bread.

• Every salad dressing is homemade and can be purchased to take home.

• Our cookies are baked fresh daily.

• Our meats are brought to us from Ponderosa, right down the street.

• Many of our herbs and produce are grown locally.

Our Farms

The River School Farm farm prides itself on growing food year-round in this high desert, urban environment. Using a variety of innovative growing techniques we are able to produce a diverse mix of organic vegetables and herbs even in the coldest months. We practice responsible micro-farming, aspiring to work within a closed system where we generate our own fertility and food.  In that pursuit we also raise chickens, ducks, goats and keep bees, all of whom contribute to a healthy, wholesome model of living.

New Harvest Farm is an urban farm located in Reno near downtown and the scenic Truckee River. We specialize in growing pea shoots and sunflower shoots. You can find our products year-round at the Great Basin Community Food Co-op and at many restaurants in the Reno/Sparks/Tahoe region.
